SATURDAY 10TH AUGUST 2019 SUMMER FUNDRAISING WALK
Put your best foot forward for two great local causes – The Community Christmas Lunch and Aylesbury Space
The Community Christmas Lunch – held in St Mary’s Aylesbury on Christmas day has been taking place for over 20 years offering a full Christmas meal plus entertainment for over 100 guests. The event is open to all and most importantly it is entirely free to all who attend.
Aylesbury Space – Everyone goes through difficult times once in a while. You may feel alone and isolated. These times can be difficult and even traumatic, but organizations like SPACE can offer you support. Space support people who are going through relationship difficulties, depression, bereavement, unemployment, mental health problems, loneliness, or any combination of these issues.
Your contribution on this walk will provide funding for both of these deserving local projects which directly help people in our community.
Note: This is an organised walk with several rest stops, certified first aiders and relevant third party insurance. Please wear appropriate footwear as the path may be uneven, slippery or muddy. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.
A 7 mile circular walk from the Ivinghoe Beacon Car park, across the hills to Aldbury village, up a climb to Ashridge monument and finishing back at the Beacon car park. You can walk as little or as far as you like but you have to make your own transport arrangements if you wanted to be picked up at Aldbury or Ashridge.
For refreshments there is a shop in Aldbury and a café with toilets at the monument. Lunch will be at Ashridge monument where we will be providing water and a free picnic. The whole route will take approx 4 hours at a moderate pace. There are a few climbs and the one up to the monument is quite steep but fairly short in duration. A £10 contribution (payable on the day) will help us to support our two great causes.
